How to use

  1. Type or paste your text into the Input box.
  2. Every case appears at once: UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case and kebab-case. Tick Remove accents / diacritics to turn é, ñ or ư into plain a–z.
  3. Click Copy next to the version you want.

Every text case with examples

The same phrase, "hello world example", in each case the converter supports.

CaseExampleUsed for
UPPERCASEHELLO WORLD EXAMPLEHeadings, labels, emphasis
lowercasehello world exampleFixing text typed with Caps Lock on
Title CaseHello World ExampleTitles and headlines
camelCasehelloWorldExampleJavaScript and Java variable names
PascalCaseHelloWorldExampleClass and component names
snake_casehello_world_examplePython, database columns, file names
kebab-casehello-world-exampleWeb addresses (slugs) and CSS classes

Fix text typed with Caps Lock on

Paste the shouting text and copy the lowercase or Title Case version. It is quicker than retyping, and it works for long emails, lists and spreadsheet columns at once.

Inside the programs themselves: in Microsoft Word, select the text and press Shift+F3 to cycle through lowercase, UPPERCASE and capitalized words. In Google Docs, select the text and use Format → Text → Capitalization.

Remove accents for URLs, file names and code

Accented letters can break file names, web addresses and older systems. With Remove accents / diacritics ticked, "Crème Brûlée Café" becomes "Creme Brulee Cafe" and Vietnamese "Tiếng Việt có dấu" becomes "Tieng Viet co dau". Combined with kebab-case it gives a clean URL slug such as creme-brulee-cafe.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?

Both join words without spaces and capitalize each new word. camelCase starts with a lowercase letter (firstName); PascalCase starts with a capital (FirstName). JavaScript uses camelCase for variables and PascalCase for classes and React components.

Does Title Case follow AP or Chicago style?

It capitalizes the first letter of every word, which is the simplest form. Style guides lowercase short words such as a, of and the in the middle of a title, so adjust those by hand if you follow a specific guide.

How do I change case in Excel or Google Sheets?

Use a formula in a new column: =UPPER(A1) for capitals, =LOWER(A1) for small letters and =PROPER(A1) to capitalize each word, then copy the results and paste them as values. For a one-off list, pasting the column here is often quicker.

Is there a limit on text length?

No practical limit. Long documents convert instantly because everything runs on your device.

Is my text saved?

No. The conversion happens in your browser and the text is not uploaded or stored.
