How to use
- Choose an SVG file, drop it on the preview, or open "Paste SVG code" and paste the markup.
- Pick the PNG width: 1,000 px for the web, 2,000 to 3,000 px for stickers and mugs, 4,500 px for a full 15 inch shirt print. The height follows the SVG's shape.
- Choose a transparent, white or colored background, then download. The PNG is saved at 300 DPI, so print programs open it at the size shown under the width.
Why convert SVG to PNG at a large size
An SVG is a drawing made of shapes, so it has no fixed pixel size. A PNG is a grid of pixels. Many places only take PNG or JPG: listing photos, most print-on-demand upload forms, office documents and some printers. If you export a small PNG and enlarge it later, the edges turn blurry. This converter draws the SVG again at the width you pick, so a 4,500 px PNG is as sharp as a 500 px one.
The size comes from the SVG's width and height, or from its viewBox when those are missing. A logo whose viewBox is 0 0 200 100 becomes 4,500 × 2,250 px at 4,500 px wide.
| Use | PNG width | Prints at 300 DPI |
|---|---|---|
| Website or listing image | 1,000 px | 3.3 in |
| Sticker or mug wrap | 2,000–3,000 px | 6.7–10 in |
| Left chest shirt print | 1,200 px | 4 in |
| Full front shirt print | 4,500 px | 15 in |
Transparent background or white?
Keep the background transparent for shirts, mugs, stickers and anything printed on a colored product, so only the design prints. Choose white or a color when the PNG goes into a document or a listing photo where an empty background would show as a checkerboard or black.
Fonts are the one thing to check. If the SVG uses a font that is not installed on your device and not converted to outlines, the browser draws it with a fallback font. Convert text to paths (outlines) in your design program before exporting the SVG.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert an SVG to a high-resolution PNG?
Add the SVG above, pick a width such as 3,000 or 4,500 px, and download. The SVG is redrawn at that size, so the PNG stays sharp; it is not an enlarged small image.
Does the PNG keep a transparent background?
Yes. Transparent is the default. Parts of the SVG with no fill stay transparent in the PNG.
What DPI is the PNG?
300 DPI, the usual request of print shops and print-on-demand services. The DPI only sets the print size; the pixel width you pick sets the detail.
Why is my text in a different font?
The SVG refers to a font that your device does not have. Convert the text to outlines (paths) in your design program and export the SVG again.
Is my SVG uploaded?
No. The SVG is read and drawn by your browser, and the PNG is saved straight to your device.
